Jana Krosl
Jana received her M.Sc from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she studied the role of steroid receptors in cancer development. Her Ph.D. training at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, was directed towards understanding the role of cytokines in activity of bone marrow stem cells. She joined the Sauvageau team as a postdoctoral fellow and later as a research associate to uncover the mechanisms that regulate adult stem cell behavior. She has been a pillar of the Sauvageau lab. She contributed to the vast majority of publications from our group, has been an essential player in ensuring the continuous funding of the laboratory, and passed along her knowledge to countless students. Jana succumbed to cancer after a fight that she waged with great courage. She will be remembered for her strength, determination and devotion to our lab and IRIC.
