Fama completed her B. Sc in Microbiology, Immunology and Infectiology with honours at the University of Montreal. As part of her B. Sc honours’ project she studied the viral determinants of the oncolytic mammal reovirus that activate the interferon production pathway in Dr Lemay’s lab. She is one of the winners of IRIC’s Next Generation Awards and carried out an internship in the Sauvageau lab during summer 2020. Her deep interest in cancerology made her stay in the Sauvageau lab to start her M.Sc in fall 2020. She is working on genetic screening strategies in order to characterize compounds targeting various AML subtypes.
