Hilary completed her B.Sc from the University of Western Ontario with an honours specialization in biology. She then joined IRIC in the summer of 2019 through the Next Generation Awards Program where she assisted Dr. Alain Verreault in the investigation of post-translational modifications of histone proteins in fungal pathogens to combat their infection in immunocompromised patients. Hilary joined the Sauvageau lab in the fall to start her M.Sc where she plans to perform a functional dissection of the genetic networks governing leukemic stem cell expression in certain subsets of AML.

She is excited about up-and-coming advancements in the biotechnology sector and understanding bioinformatic approaches to analyze genetic and genomic data.
